Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me get started with finding a similar definition file for my ECU.  I fou0nd a bin on this site that was a 0006 version, but my ECU dump is 0005 (both attached).  I was also thinking of using that 0006 file just as an update (read about a p0420 flash TSB), but figured it would be nice to know what the files are doing so any help with definitions would be great!

Thanks!

I was hoping for any definition file already created, or maybe at least similar, after looking at this thread below, I think I have an OLS that will help me search for maps myself.
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=7829.0

If there are any other definitions already created that's awesome, but for now I think i'll dig through some more myself, you can tell from my post count i'm still a bit new at this, but i'm really interested in learning!

Probably due to the fact that I built it off your file above!  Wink

I didn't have time to sort this out yet (check axis/offsets), but shows you where to look;

any hints on ESKONF or O2 maps/definitions in this file?  I still wish I had the 1482 version where it says it fixes P420 codes, but don't see any list of the file except on ziptuning and no idea how to DL that. (http://www.ziptuning.com/en/vag-database/volkswagen/022906032CS-1482)

PS is any 022906032XX ECU compatible with this one? for example a GF, BL, BT, CR, GP

I don't use Tunerpro but if you stick that file in winols demo and take a look at one of my posts titled "VR6 info" in the tuning area there should be some info on map structures for the 711's which would help you get started in making your own.

Depends, there's single and twin VVT, there's markets with dual pre and post lambda 02 and those with single pre/post (BDF I think) plus additional bytes here and there between V(R)6/R32 models and the later stuff blends into MED9 in places. Also depends on how you go about tuning/modifying data I suppose - "there's more than one way to skin a cat!" as many will tell you!
That company has probably just downloaded your file tbh so they build up their database of ori files most of which are likely on here, I just downloaded yours and quickly slapped on a few things on earlier in the thread and as here, 3 minutes work but I've spent 5 years concentrating on these ecu's so it's easier for me than noobs. The axis values in some are off (common) but the map values and data seemed to line up well with them so should be legit, you should be able to work out the values for them easy enough - being BDF and being in the UK there's not much point in me going into detail on them so just helping out for the DIYers a touch.

Really appreciate the time you've spent on this, I know what 5 minutes of time only made possible with years of experience means (often taken for granted).  As for Ziptuning, I never sent them anything, just noticed they seemed to have that 1482 version of the ECU bin on their site, but no way to download.  Per other stuff I've read that build specifically has factory changes to get rid of p420 codes that were happening.  As for my p420 code I was getting, I'm going to get a new cat since the car has 200k on it, probably a legit code =)

No, I meant sites like that tend to scour the net for original files and advertise them. Added a bit more lambda control/codewords;

yeah, if only I could find the bin like they did though =)

Anyway, for ECU I'd flash this bin over it so it would match software wise, but i'm guessing different O2 sensor setups would be different hardware.  I think I can get another 032CS box on ebay, it's just that it looks like ~$50 more than some of those others I mentioned.  I clearly need it to actually work in the car though so the price is worth it if needed.

Thanks again!

I have very early 2003 GTI Vr6 24v 6 spd with P0420.

Address 01: Engine        Labels: 022-906-032-BDF.lbl
   Part No: 022 906 032 CS
   Component: MOTRONIC ME7.1.1G   0006
   Coding: 00032

So far I have loaded the 0005 and 0006 into IDA, and documented all the differences. I had read some where that 0006 was to fix the P0420 issue.

In this thread, a version newer than 0006, aka 1482 is discussed:
http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?445-ECM-software-update-from-HELL!
I find it odd that after the OP sent off for a version his dealer could not provide, he got 1482 in his version string but it no longer said MOTRONIC there:

Address 01: Engine Labels: 022-906-032-BDF.lbl
Control Module Part Number: 022 906 032 CS
Component and/or Version: 2.8-LEV-Mj03 1482
Software Coding: 00032

So I started thinking 1482 might be a farce. I hunt everywhere and can not find newer than 0006. Then I came across "VW_Quick_ref_12_2010 by DandyDon2k"
https://www.scribd.com/document/75825614/VW-Quick-ref-12-2010
It mentions a TSB 01 08 22 and software version 1482 for BDF to fix P0420!!!

The chart looks legit. My GTI is an early 2003 BDF. I can't find the 1482 file anywhere. I think if i go to dealer they will say 0006 is most current and I need a new cat.

The TSBs mentioned, at least what I can find, do not specify SW version numbers.
Can anyone help with ols, bin file, or confirm 1482 is real?

Thanks so much!!

Edit:saw some auto scans with that string so I guess it is legit. If I manage to find the binary I will post it here.
