Hi guys, I'm new here, so sorry for the noob questions... I've a 2.8 V6 30V ACK engine. It was Tiptronic, but the tranny was replaced to a 5spd, and the ecu was recoded to manual too. The car is DBW, and have the ME7.1 ECU. Has 4 cats and 4 O2 sensors, and SAI system, and got the cat and sai related DTC's of course.. I've a Galletto cable, and downloaded the file, loaded it to WinOls but the prog. didnt found too much maps. I would like to remove the emissions related dtc's first, so started to search for a damos or xdf file...no success The only thing I found on Nyet's site, is a .csv file for a 8D0907551G ecu, but the car has the 3B0907551G. So here is the first question: could the 2 ecu's maps be the same? Because the only difference is the first 2 number. I attach the original file of my ecu, if anybody can help me Thank for any help in advance!

the values starting @ 18198 are what you want to edit. just 00 them. not all of them though, you want adaptation to work.

So I should 00 them from 18198 but I'm not quite sure till which number? Till 181b1? What values should I leave 01? So the 8D0 .cvs file is good for my 3B0 ECU?

what you need to do is experiment and it will make sense then.
no 2 ecus have maps in the same *exact* spots. not that ive seen anyways. might be close but you will spend a lot of time looking at hex trying to sort them out.

your looking at a euro s4 g-box file. its not going to be the same as you arent an 2.7tt motor.
as kompresed said look through the damo's to get an idea, find related hex between your .ori and the damos, you should be able to find out what you need to change to get rid of your CEL's
every me7 ecu i looked at has the 02 sensor stuff in the same area. so you should be fine.
if you have issues let us know id be happy to help.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I have a Galletto clone cable, so I downloaded the original file. No problems at all. I used WinOls to get rid of the CEL, saved the modified file, and tried to download to the ECU, but it failed.. Now I dont have the EPC and CHECK lights, and the car doesnt start. What can be wrong? Should I try to download the original file back to the ECU? The Galletto downloads the file up to 50%, then says turn off the ignition for 10s and then turn back. I'm trying to flash it over the OBD port.

Can you offer me a good webstore, where I can find a good bench cable? Or is there any other way to re-load the original file to the ECU with that USB-OBD cable? Now my car is dead, Vag-Com cant see the ECU, and Galletto always stops at 50%...

i use a galletto clone and it will flash over obd. but having said that, youre going to need boot mode to recover your ecu.
are you in the usa? i have a bench cable and can recover the ecu.

your post won by a second. lol Can you offer me a good webstore, where I can find a good bench cable?
You don't need to buy a bench cable, making one is very easy. This is the cable pinout for a ME7.5 - 1.8T, you should check if your ecu pinout is the same. ECU GND - 1 +12V - 3 Kline - 43 Ignition - 62 OBD-II connector GND - 5 +12V - 16 Kline - 7 source: h**p://www.evc.de/en/service/pinout.asp I will try to upload pics later today.

Thanks guys! At first I'll need an ECU harness and a female OBD port from a yunkjard, then I'll add +12V, GND and K-line to the ECU and that's it? The clone USB Galletto cable will work fine? I've the ME7.1 so I think the pinout from that website will work. (is says it is for ME7's) Can I use a battery charger to add power because I do not have a DC supply?
