I have pretty serious vibration issues when the AC is running and I was curious if I could increase the idle. I tried the vagcom adaptation. I have made myself a custom tune with tunerpro already but I'm not sure what to modify to do this.

Also I have cleaned and calibrated my throttle body. Just a hint of throttle to bump the idle and it runs so smooth. No ac it runs great also.

NLLM - idle RPM KFMRES - idle torque reserve
But I'm not sure how to modify the tables.

you made yourself a "custom tune" all by yourself but youre unsure how to raise the idle speed?

The only custom I did was disabled the second o2 and sai delete because of a readiness issue. I'm in the noob section, I'm not trying to act like I know everything...just asking for help. Not trying to be a jerk here...just learn a bit.

Yes, but is there a way to raise the idle/ torque reserves only when the AC is active?

From what I read about KFMRES it kind of works that way but it doesn't actually increase the idle. Once I learn how to adjust the map I might just try increasing the reserve if that doesnt help my issue, I'll just put the KFMRES back and increase the entire idle through NLLM. But still I'm not sure how to change the map, the numbers dont really mean much to me.

I understand how the idle torque system works in general, but the 1.8t also has inputs from the steering pressure sensor, and from the AC system coming on/off so it's clear the system needs some kind of input other than just sensing when more tq is needed on its own.

You really shouldn't need to raise idle to fix this problem. You shouldn't even need to change KFMRES unless you're running a super lightweight fw, for that matter. I think something else is wrong.

I know the vibration he's talking about. It's worse on the longitudinal 1.8's Raising the idle slightly, while a dirty fix, will make it less severe. It probably could use some new engine mounts as well.

I have brand new density solid rubber engine mounts, an ecs poly snub, and two solid density transmission mounts. I've replaced all of the check valves, the suction jet valve, all of the lines, new pcv, ultimate timing kit from ecs, I got a deal on a new from audi head when I got the car and installed it, new plugs, new r8 coils, new coil harness, new smic orings, and the list goes on. If I just give my car about 100 more rpms with the ac it runs perfect. I've put about 15k miles on the car and done all of this work and it runs PERFECT except for the idle with ac.

Start by adding a bit of KFMRES and log the results (rpm, timing, throttle plate angle) with and w/o clutch in (assuming it is a manual).

Also my car is a 5 speed so raising the idle wont really hurt anything but traffic fuel economy.
