And if you want to change the map you should change the last 8 bytes - they are the step of the needle motor

The first 8 bytes is the speed

You pair them in words , swap and change to decimal - you will get something like 24 1600 2800 4100 if you divide it by 16 you will get the angle of needle from the zero position ( close to the 0 kmh Mark at gauge faces  )

If you divide the bytes that are the speed  by 16 you will get the according spped values.

So to make the gauge show HIGHER speed i have to LOWER the values of last 8 bytes....
Same speed at low angles= speed is higher on display at end...
Not the first 2 and not the last two (they are the limits) but the central two words.
Am i right ?

no you have make these value higher but it's not the way

I talked to a friend who put in a passat cluster to A38L - he changed the K-Value to a closest to Audi 3447 ( 770D HEX -> swap byte 0D77 -> 3447 DEC ) and it works ok

So your cluster 880L had a 3564 ( EC0D HEX -> swao byte 0DEC -> 3564 DEC ) , the new one has 3447

try to change 77 0D to EC 0D Smiley

I tried to change ONLY the byte 77 to EC.
Still "def" on cluster and speed is BETTER but not perfect !
Today was vey bad weather so i cant try much but at about 100 km/h real it show on cluster about 95 !
Before was about 90 !

So we are in the right way...
Any suggestion for other tests and to take out DEF on display ?
For now you are almost the winner of the contest ...

It's just quite interesting Wink

If you raise the value of aby byte from the speed map by the diffrence beetween EC and 77  the def should dissapear ,  try it just for test purpose

Any byte od the speedmap , the checksum is probably the sum of the map bytes , and some other bytes  including kvalue - but I cannot figure it out...the immo1 dump is a complete mystery Wink
