airbag module vin change

hi i have a question if i want to change the vin inside the airbag module in mcu or eeprom i can do directly for exampel
with x-prog i read then i write the new vin can i damage the airbag module?

i change the vin and everything is ok i have changed direct in xprog
the airba is from mercedes w211 2004
