I bought a 2006 VW Jetta manufactured 01/2006 this is a K-line vehicle. there was no ecu in car when I bought it, also no key. This was a bargain at 500 bucks. Let the fun begin. I bought a used ecm same part number. I downloaded ArgDub's tool and proceeded to remove immo, piece of cake......I think lol. Installed an early style lock and key set from rockauto, it fit $32.00. Turns car on. Car starts yipeee! I have lights from hell ABS, ESP, Cruise, Airbag, etc etc. Using a generic scanner They won't friggen clear, Car runs like a stripped-ass ape, hauls ass like I never dreamed a VW could run. Went 120 mph on test drive. Now what's up with the codes?
The immo light flashes continually, but everything works. I think maybe my new ecu came from a different vw like maybe a 5 cylinder Beetle. It seems like it was too easy, I used a bench set-up, just threw it together using a wire harness from a wrecked roll-over with pc power supply and an ATV battery, rigged up power switch and ignition switch. It worked fine. I think I can put another image on it...no problem, but I'm already in the dog-house with this fine machine. lets treat her right. Any advise appreciated.
