Has anyone used the cheap ebay tools for flashing these ME7.1.1.'s? If so which ones, what did you change, more detailed aspects?

I know that, for example, on ST10's you might need to use something like x-prog on a budget to change mcu aspects as required, or certain tools giving you the mcu read etc, but wondering what you've done on the earlier ones with the cheap tools?

Thanks

mpps

Pretty horrible for ME7.1.1 in my experience (via OBD). It will allow you to make a full backup of an ST10 ecu (in bootmode), though.

mpps

Which ones/what have you done with MPPS FB? They seem to do well on the 1.8T's, all derivatives of the C166 family I suppose.

032cb st10c167 (a3 -04) mpps v12 boot more. Tried obd with mpps and nefmoto, not working. Some friendly guru would hint a code patch to allow the obd work.

I successfully used galletto (on the bench) with ME 7.1.1 G. MPPS via OBD did not work for me.

MPPS via bootmode works for flashing over OBD. Reading of the ecu can be done with MPPS over OBD without bootmode.

Which version, 16 or 18?
