Hi

After finding an original file yesterday for my 8E0909518P I used that to flash my car with nefmoto and it worked 100% drove the car and no problems, used tunerpro too open and modify the fueling parameter "KRKTE - primary fueling" just as a test, I saved and then reflashed my car using the modified bin. The flash did moan about a checksum issue on one part of the upload but asked too try again and then completed 100%....... I left the car over night while researching all the other mapping parameters etc this morning I tried too reflash with original bin only too find the nefmoto doesnt want too connect now and whats strange is that my climate control fans are spinning when the software is trying too connect even though my climate control is off. I did try with the MPPS cable and software again which now seems too be picking up an external voltage but when selecting the orginal bin MPPS is saying that the file isnt for that ecu or something...

anyone able too point me in the right direction please?

do you have a checksum plugin for tunerpro?
otherwise changing values in the bin-file and flashing it will result in some serious issues.
checksums need to be corrected before flashing.

if you are LUCKY you can unplug the ground on the battery for about 20 minutes, then hook it up again, and the box will let you connect ONCE.. and even let you flash.
but do not try to start the engine, as once the ecu finds out the checksums are wrong, it locks up again and you need to repeat the procedure.

get the checksums corrected using plugin or software, and then reflash.. or reflash using original bin-file in the meantime.

if you still cannot connect after this procedure, you will have to benchflash the ecu using bootmode.

thank I actually did that just before you posted and it worked, I rebooted laptop, disconnected my car battery and ran a quick charge on it and managed too reflash... thanks

question is the tunerpro checksum plugin free or is there anything else I can use too fix the checksum? And a brief description of what I need too do too fix the checksum after modifying the bin would be great.

Thanks for all the help everyone  Grin

You could always post a cheeky request for checksum correction now and again. If you need to do it often then the MTX plugin is really cheap.
