Hey guys I am wondering if its possible to use a mk4 golf engine wiring harness with a b5 a4 ecu???Just wondering if its a plug an play solution or if the ecu needs to be reflashes to a different software??Or if using a b5 a4 ecu is even possible???Im only using the engine harness and ecu nothing else.

ive seen mk4 with a4b5 ecu (flashed with mk4 awp file)
running pretty well until ecu was flooded lol (a4 ecus non-waterproof)

I only ask because Im swapping a engine from a4 into a mk2 golf.Was hoping to be plug and play if I use all the sensors from the a4.

Have done a few PD conversions into Mk2 golfs and always use mk4 Golf looms, As long as ECU is PD no real problems,
although always better to use the ECU that came with the engine  Smiley

Thats the plan.Wiring,sensors and ecu from the same car.Now I gotta figure out how to waterproof the ecu.LOL

Not too much rain in Portugal LOL !
If you look where they put the ECU´s on MK3 & 4 golfs you´ll see its only under a plastic cover by the wiper motor
and they seem to survive ok. I´ve seen them wrapped in plastic bags before now  Cheesy

mk3 and mk4 ecus are waterproof from factory.a4 ecus are not.
