Does anyone know if a B6S4 (ECM 8E2 910 560) is still single K-Line?
« on: February 23, 2017, 04:36:09 PM »
I have a standard bench flashing setup. Power/Ground/single K-line. I have been able to connect to four different ME7.1.1 ECM's. Two are out of 2.7T Allroads and two are out of 4.2L Allroad's. I purchased a ECM (8E2 910 560) off EBAY and it was out of a 2004 B6S4. I cannot connect to the ECM with VCDS, NEFMoto software or ME7EEPROM utility. These all work with my other ECM's.
Does anyone know if there's something different about the B6S4 ECM vs. the other ECM's? Does it need a different bench flash setup? CAN? Second K-line? Not KWP-2000? Maybe the ECM that I purchased is bad?
Help would be appreciated.

I should add that the B6S4 ECM says on the label it's a ME7.1.1 just like the other four ECM's I have.

IIRC the b6s4 has two can wires an 1 k-line wire.
I could be wrong

Thanks man. Took a little while to figure out the CAN connections but that did it. I'm able to connect. but big SIGH from me now. Seems unlikely I'll be able to use this B6S4 ECM in my Allroad if it needs CAN. The OBD connector I cut out of the donor 4.2L car didn't even have the CAN wires in it; I had to move wires from other positions into the CAN positions. The 4.2L Allroad ECM just needed a single K-line. Looks like I'm stuck figuring out how to code my original ECM as a manual. This....is....a.....setback......
