Ok totally new I'm not really that great with PC but I'm good enough to be using a Bdm frame and all such things needed.

Dimsport. It gets througand seeing Ecu and identifying it. I select the "read ECU" button and it thinks for usually about 05:33 sec on the timer. Then kicks off and say

"Reading block at 0x00000000
Block read error (E10)
Total time: 5:33 sec.
Failed

Wait please
POWER OFF"

I will switch over everything to PC rather then laptop. As it seems to take quite sometime to do anything while virtual machine is running.

Do you mean you are trying to flash/read through a windows emulation on a MacBook, when you say virtual machine?

No using virtual machine on a Windows 10 PC. Was not able to load the drivers for software onto the win 10. Was able to use virtual machine and version of win XP successfully to load the Bdm/dimsport software.

As far as I remember it does not work with the Microsoft VM software with XP. I used the free Oracle VM software with an XP installation instead to make it work.

I also use the Oracle Virtual Box with XP and it works great.

Swaped all the software over to my PC, took a number of times to load the software but after a number of attempts I have gotten my first full read completed!

I used VMware and a version of XP on virtual drive. I have windows 7 not 10 and I was not able to load some drives. On the virtual drive it's working.

Top tip.   Create a snapshot of the virtual machine to fall back on if/when your xp trial expires.   Smiley
