Hi guys,

i know this might be a sore subject but is there any way with the hex editor to remove the ban?

I'm not looking to steal somebody's hard work or sell it for my own gains.

It's already on my ecu when i bought the car and i would like to make some very small changes for my self.

Will the makers mark be visible in the hex editor?

Use a different editor that doesn't care about ols sigs. You will have to manually fix the checksums if you do this.
If we are talking ME7, just use TunerPro and ME7Sum.

winols read protection is not a rocket science
open your file with any hex editor
find and replace NOREAD tag with FFFFFF in hex or any other word
save your file (notice that checksums are bad now)
import in winols
magic

Yeah, sorry, thought you were past that. I am referring to signature maps in ols, not a NOREAD tag. This may have been implemented in a later version than what most people are using.
