im trying to decide weather its worth it to buy an MPPS clone cable, i have a galletto 1260 already. i downloaded V5 of the MPPS software and it looks like it may do a few more cars than the galletto but does it actually do all the cars listed? i seen listed it will read M5.9.X vehicles which i didnt think was possible. i have a GQ-4X chip burner from MCUmall.com and the PLCC adapter for the M5.9.X chips but if i dont have to pull the ECU it would be rally nice. is the MPPS more reliable over the galletto? i've bricked a couple ECU's with the galetto already. just looking at other options so i can quit wasting money on ECU's cuz of a galetto brick. thanks guys.

you can recover those "bricked" ecu's with bootmode likely

MPPS v12 clone is what you probably want, its fairly reliable as a clone.

if you are only doing me7, then a galletto for bootmode, kwp2000+ or nefmoto for flashing.  I have a kwp2000+ for like 5 years now(when they came out) and ive NEVER had an issue with that.

Hi,

Agreeing with Rarak, Same story over here. Same devices.

"i seen listed it will read M5.9.X vehicles which i didnt think was possible" -> ONLY WRITE !
and ofcourse  ALL M3.8.3 ecu's (as M5.9.X is a bro of them)

Never had any bricking issues..  check your hardware (stable, fast pc) and a nice
batterycharger usually does the job.

Get a MPPS. You will like it. V3 already does ME7's proper (even bootmode) and the M5.9.x

Cheers,

Hi - Can you please clarify something for me here.  Can MPPS force the ECU into boot mode or is a bench harness required?

Bootmode is done at a hardware level, ( grounding the wire on the flash chip  ).

Harness or flash method play no roll in it.

MPPS does some nifty things, I've found with some ME7.5 that NefMoto doesn't do and MPPS does them perfectly.  Couple different times it has been able to pull something off that the other tools couldn't.
