While trying.to.bootmode.my.ecu.I.think.I.bricked.it.
sorry.my.space.key.is.not.working.
 I.was.dumb.to.keep.the.+12v.connected.to.pin3.and.ground.the.bootpin.before.applying.ground.to.pin 1&2...Now.not.able.to.do.any.kind.of.communication.with.ecu..
Assuming.i.fried.the.flashchip.I.replaced.it.with.a.new.one.with.same.code...but.nothing.
Planing.to.buy.a.new.ecu.as.i.wanted.a.spare.one.anyway.
Can.somebody.suggest.an.equivalent.ecu.as.my.ecu.is.very.rare.
I.have.attached.pics.of.my.ecu.
Thanks

will me7.5 06A906032DE from a year 2000 car work  for me.
Also i would like info --
1) were is the k-line comming from, is it connected to some pin on the microprocessor.
2) were is the pin 24 of the flash chip connected to , I am unable to trace it. How does grounding it get the ECU into bootmode. Is there some other pin on the processor which can be grounded instead.
Does bootmode mean the processor restricts the code excuted to its ROM only and does not call the codes inside the flash chip.
I am asking this because my microprocessor seems to be working fine as it warms up nicely but there is no way i am able to get it to boot mode.

Hi from which year is your car? and what enginecode ?

You have a fully  equipped ecu as of components.

This means that you have to be very carefull with selecting a ecu that has
the sort of same software in it, to support all electronics that are current on the car.

It's a shame we don't live close to eachother, as i know for sure we can bring life back
into the original ecu. Would like to give that a try. Worst case scenario: flashrom and
eeprom bust. this is simple to replace when one owns a hot-air-rework-station and the
components (have these on stock) Preprogrammed,  swapped, the ecu should instantly
be available and functional again, if no other components have taken a beating.

Can you still connect to the ecu via vagcom ? Ifso, there is still a possibility to repair it
'on the bench' .

Awaiting needed info,

Cheers,

Thanks pvl. May be with your support I might be able to bring it back to life. Smiley. The car is an Octavia VRS 2007, AUM engine.
I was able to connect to the ecu on bench with nefmoto and vcds. But unable to read flash on bench with nefmoto as IMMO was blocking that. Then like an Idiot I short the boot pin to -ve with the +ve connected and -ve disconnected. I saw the red led of the blue ebay cable lighting up. In short it looks like the ecu and ebay cable was powered through the pin 24 of the Flash chip. Realizing my mistake to check the ecu I tried to connect to nefmoto but it wont connect. Put it back on car but when I turnon (without starting) the Ignition then the engine check light does not lightup and there is no communication with the ecu.
Tried Bootmode on bench some 20 times but nothing (using ebay blue cable, ME7_95040 SW & minimon). Thinking I must have fried the Flashchip (imo even then bootmode should work right..) I replaced it with a another one from a similar ECU. But still nothing. All the chips on the ECU warm up nicely when powered. I think I fried some resistor or something ,cant find anything though. I have ordered a galletto cable and 06A906032DE ecu for some experimenting. Wish me good luck.  Grin.

Hmm, i think you screwed up, properly.

Thats a shame. But perhaps there might be something to fix. Let's await galletto and the
06A906032DE ecu.

I also did a quick comparison on the 06A906032DE ecu you bought in relationship with the current stuff :

Seat:

Ecu:

06A906032DE APP/ARY/AUQ

Turbocharger:

06A145704L  AJQ/APP
06A145704LX AJQ/APP
06A145713FX AUQ/ARY

Injector :

06A906031BA  AUQ/ARY/APP

---------------------------

Skoda:

Ecu:

06A906032 FC   AUM
06A906032 SG   AUM
06A906032 HK   AUM
06A906032 DJ   AUM
06A906032 HL   AUM
06A997033 LX   AUM
06A997034 CX   AUM

Turbocharger:

06A145713DX AUQ/AUM/ARX
06A145713F  AUQ/AUM/ARX
06A145713FX AUQ/AUM/ARX

Injector :

06A906031BA

---------------------------

So that 06A906032DE ecu should work, as the hardware is nearly the same.
You need to recode the unit or immo-off the thing to be plug&play.

Myself not very confident it will work. Grin But DE was the closest to SG I could find for 40 pounds all other over 100 pounds.
Also from my research I found my SG fitted to some AUQ engines so may be it will work. My other worry is that it should be wideband since this ecu is from a 2000 cupra, My guess is it should be..Also my ecu is IMMO 3 and this ecu most likely IMMO 2 .. Is that a problem. Anyways I kind of like problems. I cant find any stock flash files for DE ECU, thought of preparing some new tunes for my new ECU Grin

Hi,

No probs. Thats what the forum is for.

"my SG fitted to some AUQ engines"  ummmm...  no. Or at least ETKA ain't tellin'. You mean SJ.

SG is only fitted to 2001 Audi A3's and 2003 VW Golf's.

All with the same Hardware/software :

06A906032SG-0010-0261208532-1037369039-40-1-ME7.5.5-4013.00-24C-Dst01o-10-10-2003 - AUM 150BHP

The DE-ecu is a 180bhp AUQ engine base. So you get free chiptuning a la 'oem'.

06A906032DE-0001-0261206866-1037360165-41-1-ME7.5.51-4019.02-24b-Dst01o-26-07-2000 - AUQ 180BHP

For what Ross-tech has to say about immobilisers...  I think you better immo-off this new DE-ecu, to save yourselfe a lot of trouble. :

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer

The 95040 - immo-off chip can be found on this forum, and you can program that with the vagcom-dongle i guess via bootmode.

I wonder VW's thinking behind using so many different variations for 1.8t engines. My favourite  tune for my SG     box was the one derived from an HN box. Tried many other tunes but somehw stock tunes are good for regular use.

Hi,

Looking to your last post:

"My favourite  tune for my SG     box was the one derived from an HN box".  That can be
made to work in the DE-ecu. Would you be so kind to post the file over here? Or PM me about it ?

Thanks,

Here it is. Its nothing but  stock HN offset ed for SG with very minor changes. I had last made a good tune (not the one posted here) which I really liked which got me into all this trouble,it was good for the one time I drove  it. One thing I have noticed is that SG has more retarded timings than HN so it feels better at lower revs even though it demands much less boost. May be a retarded timing helps the turbo to spool better.

Hi,

Thanks for the post of the file. I'll have a look to it, later-on this week.

You did used the bootpin-location as of this one is stating ?
(round red circle, first pic to ground, when power is switched on, and after 1 sec, release the bootpin bridge)

http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=1369.0;topicseen

As that will only work. Your photo's did not show this spot b.t.w. so i thought, let's inform you
about it.
