Hi, as we all know it is possible to flash stock AUQ ecu dump into AUM engine, as they are technically the same and gather +30hp. My question is is it the same case with ARZ and APP? From my research they are identical, K03-026/035 turbo, narrowband lambda, 320cc incjectors, drive-by-wire throttle, esp, they both came in A3 in late '99 to mid 2000, so it seems like they only differs in mapping. ARZ is 06A906032AS and APP is 06A906032S  So is there a slight chance if I flash stock APP bin file into my stock ARZ will it work or will it result in a bricked ECU?
Code:
ME7Check v1.12 (c) mki, 06/2004-05/2012

AUQ is K03-052 "K03s"
ARZ is K03-044 "K03"

AUQ and AUM is basically the same engine.

ARZ and APP is from what I can find K03, non VVT.
The APP probably has a higher rated wastegate.

Yes, ARZ and APP are non-VVT, and has the same turbo (TT APP 180hp also K04-026/035). So is it possible to crossflash straightaway without touching the bin file from stock APP? Or will I brick my ECU?

Probably, but I can't be certain.
But ARZ K03-044 and APP is K03-026/044.
And they differ in wastegate pressure.
So some modification is required, not just a straight swap.

ARZ has K03-026, I know this because I replaced my turbo with K03S and it was 026.

So you put a K03-052 on your engine?

Exactly. Question is, is flashing stock APP ecu file into ARZ as they technically are the same will result in gaining extra 30hp, car will not start or ecu brick? Will I be able to Flash back my backed up ARZ ecu bin?

If you have the tools to flash, then you have the tools to modify the flash.
Why not just adapt your current software to the new hardware?

You would also need to tinker with LDRPID since none of those engines came with a "K03s".

What about this from this thread? http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=3472.0
Can I Flash it? Checked the bin, file is OK, ECUID infos are exactly the same as mine. The author of this reported it was running good with +30hp. ATC is the same as ARZ and APP from my research.

So I have just done it and it succeded Smiley Read my ECU in first atempt and then write cocktailyogi's modified bin also without any problems. Logged my car and everything is fine, fuel trims, boost etc. Car runs much better, it is very fast now Smiley Now I have solid base to begin my journey in learning and going further. Also I retrofited Cruise Control, and after flashing it is still working - I thought I will have to code it once again since flashing restore ECU's adaptions. All credits go to cocktailyogi who I believe did it first in ARZ engine.
