hi all
i just thinking if i have all the tools and softwars
if i can make from stock .bin file a fully tuned software to my 1.8t big turbo
i mean how many maps i'll need to change\tweak ?
write now i have tune on my car, but it isnt fit perfect due to some mods i done lately.
i need to go my tuner to fine tune it when i'll have the time.

for the meantime i thought maybe i'll do my own tune ?
i know some of the maps are calculation\copy past like KRKTE and TVUB
and some other i can start with base and safe map and raise it more and more
i played before with unisettings on other cars, played with winols a little bit (just on pc,without flashing) and i can go to the dyno whenever i want and get some tips on tuning from the owner which is tuner himself.

i have a 2003 seat 1.8t with
siemens 630cc
gt3082 turbo
w\m injection
EGT
AEM wideband
stock maf with vr6 housing

so you never tuned a car before, and you don't know your way around ME7?

You have a lot ahead of you.

Big turbo 1.8t here too.

I have over a year invested into my tune. Still not perfect, but getting better everyday.

berTTos just shared his beta stg3 tune (2.7 Ko4) with us, over 15,000 miles into it and I believe over 60+ maps.

It take a long time to understand how ME7.5 works, and when you think you have it you'll start learning the beast more and more. You should start fiddling around with the Bosch documentation, around 1400 pages worth, and then read some of the member contributed documentation. Then read through every thread in this forum... at least twice. Then, i would say, you can try your hand at tuning your car. But only after you've learned how tuning works by reading through some factual information and not random forum babble.

Be prepared to bench flash your ecu.

Be prepared to bench flash your ecu.

Words to live by.  I wish someone really nailed this point home to me when I first started.  Gathering everything you need to bench flash your ecu while your only means of transportation sits in your driveway is not fun.   Grin

Also buy a spare ecu just case you can't face bench flashing your ecu in the rain, cold , snow at night!
