Are things in my car tied to my ECU like the gauge cluster and other parts, or can I download a stock bin file and flash to my ecu and work? I ask because I am unsure, with my 951 and bmw 530i a stock file was a stock file and it didnt matter. I am curious if that is the case for this car as well. Thanks for your time.

you messaged me on ecuconnections. you have a 01 awm so you have a choice between 2 software versions. 018ch and 018m.   http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=12043.0   thats a link for a stock 018ch and a user made xdf. i made a list of map changes on ecu connections you can use as a starting point for a stage 1/2 tune. make sure you checksum your file before you write or it will brick.

Ok sounds good. I'm reading the wiki on tuning and I got the checksums worked out last night. I'm almost ready.

Is one for an auto trans and one for a manual trans?

There doesnt happen to be a series of videos explaining tuning the maps is there? I only ask because I work a lot but I can listen to audio while I work.

*Edit* Sorry I didnt mean to ask how to edit maps, I got that. I meant more how the ECU requests torque and boost etc. How all the maps work together. I am still waiting on my cable to arrive. With all my other cars it was very simple, fuel map and ignition map and I had a chip emulator. I'll keep reading and once I pull my actual ecu bin file and get the logging setup hopefully I wont brick my ecu lol
