i guys having some issues with my computer not reading my com port when im in the me7 95040 tool it opens the com where my obd cable is located and it tells me it was unable to open that com port but it gives me the baud rate im running windows 10 and using the ross tech cable with the intellig-boot mode off any ideas or tips would be great

You need the VCP drivers to use the Ross-Tech with a COM port, as mentioned in the s4wiki

i did update my ross cable driver to the VCP driver update but still cant open the port to read eeprom im running windows im learning and new to this i have a read alot of posts onhere and trying my best thank you for answering my stupid questions lol

did you enable vcp? did you assign a com port?

i did click on the box for vcp in the vcp properties menu but i dont how to assign the comport i see it says com port 0003 but the 95040 tool wont reconize the comport

i can use nefmoto just fine i can read full flash and write full flash no issus on that end

You can adjust the com port in device manager -> Ports (COM & LPT)

i did some re installing of the vcp driver file and now my usb showed up in the port menu in device manager and its assigned com3 now thank you for your help sorta speak lol going to try to read the eeprom in a lil bit !

im back again and the 9540 tool is reading the com port but now im having a hard time putting my ecu in bootmode ive been grounding out pin24 for atleast 10 secs and even did 2-3 seconds also i get a messge saying bootmode ....fail...... no responce from ecu any ideas
