I found the cdsls code. When I clicked on it, it opened a small window with a value of 1.00. I double clicked it and it opened up the properties window. Where it says "value=" is that where I change the value from a 1 to a 0?

Ok so the base file from my car seems to match pretty close to the lp-pl file under line 0181C0 I know that doesn't mean much

Still trying to figure out what all I'm looking for and don't really know what to do if I find it. I watched the video and several of his other videos, and still pretty lost.

To find what you need , open the specific map you are looking for in the defined bin, look at the values etc. Then alt+click it to view it in hexdump. Now view it in 16 bit hex mode , and top left set zoom % to like 400. Memorize how it looks, now using what Ive told you earlier, you can confirm if a map that you found might be the one you are looking for or not.

This makes logging and flashing childs play in comparison.

So I found a match in the maps so I can find code for my ecu based off the damos file I have. now to find out how to set sai for readiness pass and do away with it.

Use 2D mode in hexdump view, then you can see how the actual map looks like, instead of looking at 3d mode.

For some reason in 2d mode the scales are way off between the 2 files, but in 3d and text I don't see a difference in the areas I looked at. Particularly 1ECB0 and when I did the same check on CDSLS I found them to be very similar. One of the text boxes was different by 2 digits but 3d looks the same. I think I'm in the right area to edit sai, but the original file doesn't have any winols map segments to start from. Not sure how to create the segments, the video is using a different version of winols and he has preset segments. I don't know what to edit or how to begin editing at this point. I can sorta navigate the map at least now. So I can maybe tell if the file has been tuned if I knew what parameters to check.

Figured out the zoom issue. The maps look to be the same after checking several sectors.

I think I have some of it figured out. Downloaded the latest demo version of winols and that allows me to view the definitions for the lq.ols file for my car I found here on nefmoto. I can now work off the demo videos as we are using the same version. Can't save with the demo version but I can find the map locations, see the definitions and find the areas to change the values and apply it to the bootleg winols off ebay or tunerpro to save the edits. It would be easiest to just buy the latest registered version of winols. But I'm cheap and don't want to flip the bill on something I barely know how to navigate. Once I'm a little more versed in this, I will save myself a couple steps by getting winols registered. As of now a Hex editor is a hex editor, winols or tunerpro seem to function the same for that matter aside from file compatibility between the programs.

Now that I have this much figured out I need to start a new thread I guess to figure out what to write out to delete sai and pass readiness.
Where should I post the new thread where I will get help?
I know if I post in the wrong section either nobody there will know how to help me, nyet will flag it, move it or remove it.

I really want and need to learn this. I don't want anybody to do it for me, but need somebody willing to take a little time to teach me me7.5

I appreciate that you want to learn WinOls its not easy at first as you can see but it will do you good.
I'd say post it in Tuning or Noob section , it will be fine most likely.

The greek is starting to translate. I got the definitions merged with my bin file and it is starting to make sense. I am miles from knowing what to do with it when it comes to adjusting the tune for Air/fuel, timing, boost and such, but this little bit of understanding I think I can write out systems now. I will work my way up to fixing my GTI tune.

Thank you Blazius for your help.
