Hi i trying to read out my ecu using nefmoto and oem vag com cable, it connect Just fine i can read fault code and get info on ecu.
But when i try to read it stops saying it cant read file i get 3-10%,
I then measured turbo pressure at 4th gear wot and got 15psi so i think it is tuned before.
Can this stop me from reading ecu?, thinking about encryption of some sort?.
Car is seat ibiza 1.8t year 2001 156hp ayp engine.

Yes.

Write may fail too. Better have a known working bootmode setup handy or a spare ECU.

Is the risk of brikking it the same if i use boot mode?, Im getting a donor ecu with wideband o2 of ebay so will test if it work with that before Im trying boot mode.
I also have fgtech v54 but think i will try nefmoto in boot mode before trying with fgtech.

Thanks for your help

If you can bootmode you can always recover a brick (generally)

Nefmoto does not have a working bootmode. You need galletto for that.

Hi i also get fault with galetto boot mode when i check ecu it say this is the ram program in capital letter.
Im doing wideband o2 conversion and has changed to a bam 225hp engine, i have ecu for this motor 1ML 906 032 A
and IT has 29f400bb chip my oem 6K0 906 032AA has a 29f400bb
chip.
Can i put the chip from bam engine in my oem ECU or will this not work, or does eeproom detect the change.
Both ecu are chipped i get seed Key fault in galetto on the bam ECU but the car starts with it but then shuts down by the immobilizer.

The 1ML906032A is from seat leon 2003 year with bam so it should have wideband but my model seat ibiza dont got wideband.
I want to move the eeprom from my original ecu to the wideband ecu, but want to know if anybody has done this before. Try to read the wideband seat leon ecu today but get fault that the immobilizer is not authenticated.
