I am trying to overcome some issues with my 4.0tt swap. I need to feed a vehicle speed to the ECU (my race instrument cluster has CAN send capability) - I've been trying to go through the addresses 1-by-1 and feed it generic data to try to see if I can find the values change in VCDS with no luck.
I've received previous guidance that Vehicle speed is address 0x4a0 byte 1 and selected gear is 0x440 Byte 2, but I cannot get this to work, and am not sure if these are even correct. I have a sniffer so I can see that I am getting data on the bus, but don't see any effect in VCDS. I've gone 1-by-1 through all hex addresses from 0x1 - 0x600 with no luck at all on anything.
Anyone know where I can find a list of canbus address definitions for these newer cars? Any help would be appreciated.
