Hi there As I have had quite a trouble finding a good XDF for my 518AL ECU I have looked into the oppotunity to flash a 518AK file onto it. What is actually needed to port to the 518AK? My current ECU info is: Bosch Hardware number: 0261208228 Bosch software number: 1037368069 VW software number: 8E0909518AL 002 Thanks  |

Should be fine, but backup your eeprom and have bootmode ability handy in case something goes wrong.

But AK-file will ask for LDP hardware installed on fuel evaporate line - pump and pressure sensor.
These details are absent on engine controlled by AL ECU.

There is full hex/a2l available for 518AL 0005... I don't see any point in this.

Oh thx. So flashing 518AK bin into 518AL native ECU is OK. Does it have to be the same SW? I'm ruinning 0003, so can I take a 0004, 0005 518AK bin?

Why do you want to flash the 518AK file? Why not flash the 518Al 0005 on your 518AL 0003 ECU? I mean you have an full A2L for the 518AL 0005. i did the same and have no problems. |

Sorry if I'm being rude, but a short answer is, I haven't found a way to import A2L files into WINOLS demo for free and I'm not going to pay for the plugin. I tried looking for conversion softwares (A2L to xdf) but there seems to be none. Please tell me that I'm just stupid and that there is a known to everyone def converting software that doesn't cost multiple hundred euro. There being an A2L doesn't help me Fk all |

So you need a XDF file for the 518AL ECU? Sometime in the past there was a Thread on this Forum with the XDF for this ECU, but i dont know where. I only have it on my PC. |
