i've been trying to get the ECU set to full readiness and make it stay or read N/A like we all do with the ME7 ECU's. i've been pulling my hair out for months now trying to get it right and i've had zero luck. i tried a while back on my OBD 2 VR6 as well and had no luck. i've compared to the M3.8.3 damos like everyone says to do and it just doesnt work. anyone have any input on this, is there like an offset that im not seeing from M5.9.2 to M3.8.3? any help would be awesome. ive put both the original file and the one i attempted to modify below. thanks guys.

"i've compared to the M3.8.3 damos like everyone says to do and it just doesnt work" -> not quite strange, as your M5.9 (not 5.9.2!!!) is not directly related to M3.8.3.

Why ?  M5.9.2 (1.8T US-audi A4) / M3.8.3 (euro AGU engined 1.8t's) are both turbo-managements. Not N.A. managements.

If you take a hex-editor, open-up your file, so you can see it yourselfe. You will find the EPK of this ecu (plcc44 128k eprom) :

037906259  - V08 -  0261203720 - 1037355563 - 51-1 - M5.9 - 03 - 161 - DAMOS235 - 23502-S - 2350202 - S - 15-11-1995

a typical EPK of a M5.92 (flashable 256k flashrom inside) :

8D0907557P - D06 - 0261204258 - 1037350269 - 55-1 - M5.92 - 05 - 400201 - DAMOS3A8 - 3A802 - S - 3A80205 - S - 17-12-1998

All European cars till ME7.X.X was introduced are NON readiness, afaik.

So you really need a definition-file of a M5.8 to make it work.

Hope this helped a bit to clear some misunderstandments. These are so commonly found on forums about the real Motronic version people have...

Cheers,
