I own a 2001 Audi A4 B6 1.8T and I'm considering upgrading to an S4 RB4 cluster. However, I have some doubts about its compatibility. In my local area, I consulted with individuals who specialize in these modifications. One of them mentioned that the S4 cluster wouldn't work for my car as it belongs to one of the earlier generations. They sad that the cluster I need for my car is very rare and had one in stock and could cost around €600 for installation along with the cluster.

Another expert mentioned that it could work but might require adjustments to the fuel tank sensor and cruise control. I find this information quite puzzling, and I'm seeking opinions from other enthusiasts. Does this issue truly exist, or are they trying to take advantage of the situation?

My current cluster code is: 8E0920900F

The cluster I'm considering is: 8E0920930L, if it's feasible.

2001 til 6 month have reverse fuel sender.
Also you can't match you key if your car is before 6 month 2001
You need new id48 for keys and force in ECU new pin(via boot mode or with progamer for eeprom)

So yes it can be done, you ned new id48 and fuel sender from newer car

Couldn't you just use the vag eeprom programmer and read the skc of the 2 clusters and reprogram the s4 cluster with the original car's pin?

No you can't use pin code from 2001 cluster in 2002+ clusters. It will not accept it

You can try, but be ready to change pin in ECU and buy new transporers id48 for keys

Use visual me7logger and me7eeprom to change pin in ECU

This will also change VIN in cluster that will not mach car's VIN, it does nothing but if someone check it you will need to explain what vas the problem

This morning, I tried to read the cluster with the VAG EEPROM programmer and successfully read the CRYPTED version of the original 8E0920900F cluster. However, when I attempt to change it using "set newmode," it gives an error, stating that it is not encrypted. The same issue arises when trying to read the DECRYPTED version. With the new cluster, 8E0920930L, I believe I am having problems reading the CRYPTED version. Although I can read it, it seems to be corrupted. On the other hand, when decrypting, it appears to read correctly.

I want to try to discover the password for the original cluster and understand if I am correctly fetching the CRYPTED version of 8E0920930L because I don't want to encounter any issues later on. Also, I want to attempt this without having to retrieve the code from the ECU.
