Good morning everyone,

I'm having an issue reading the ecu file from my 2008 R32.  I've worked with nefmoto in the past, albeit a few years ago now, on an 03 A6 2.7T tuning out the secondary air injection and EGT sensors.  I built an ME7 bench harness which I am now trying to use after failing to read the R32 file via the car's OBD port.  I'm still not having any luck, and I'm not able to get the ECU into boot mode (whether bridging the pads or grounding pin 24).  I am able to read the ECU info both through the car's OBD port and my bench harness.  I have a bunch of cables that i've purchased over the years, but the only one appearing in Nefmoto is an "FT232R USB UART".  My ebay MPPS cable is not visible and I have not tried my Rosstech HEX-CAN cable.

ECU Info:
Supplier HW #: 0261201807
SW #: 1037387913
Vehicle Manufacturer HW #: 0x0E,022906032GP, 0x20
Calibration Date: 022906032KR, 1098, 0x030000B2, 0x00064622, 0x04F5, R32-DQ-LEV2, G
Calibration Equipment Software #: 0x00000002
Chipset reads: AM29F800BB

I'm getting to the point where i'm just trying random things, and that's not the way that I like to approach issues.  Can anyone help me?

I can confirm that several people here have been unable to get the 2008 R32 ECU into boot mode. The Nef flashing software was unable to get by the IMMO security on several of these ECUs that I tested. MPPS V18 was able to read the ECUs for me in normal and boot mode with a bench harness and Win 10 even though the drivers are not advertised to function on Win 10, only Win 7.

I use MPPS v16 and read ME7.1.1 only by boot mode. I try to read it via OBD2 it ends by faliture and sometimes ECUs are dead, software in EEPROM was getting damaged, so you must be careful. I do a bacup EEPROM first.

Yeah, don't bother too much with the free stuff until it's evolved for ST10.

MPPS V16 can be problematic, prob best with 18/21, Galletto and also K Tag have all done reads in at least boot in my experience - reasons why see below.
