I am trying to tune my friends car, but don't have much success so far...
First hardware:
Fuel return sistem, with FPR set to 3.5 bar
380 cc injectors from S3
Turbular exhaust manifold
K03 with k04 compressor wheel
walbro fuel pump
3 inch MAF housing
Forge FMIC
FUEL 100 ron

First the software the problem is high EGT reading, and after gear change i always got ignition retard. If I shift from 3. to 4. it always retard ignition. If I acccelerate only in 4. gear it doesen't have knock retard
How can I solve that? I think it is not real knock

Hardware problem is high IAT, and I would say this setup schould give more power.  My car with k03s( in bade shape), stock IC, stock exhaust, Is a yust little slower than this friend car...
Is this high IAT maybe beacuse turbo efficiency? Outside air is around 0 °C, and IAT at 180 kmh is 40 °C

And don't bother with req boost,WGDC, and PID. I will take care of that

Given that your boost req/actual is so far off, tuning EGTs and fueling right now is pointless.

Get that fixed first.

How that is going to solve my problem with EGT?
I can fix that in a short time, that is a smalles problem. But when i make tune and drive to autoban to test car , why not change a parameters to try solve EGT immediately?

Could the FATMRML map is what i need to modify?

How do You measure EGT ?

You know that measuring EGT accesibble via VCDS in this engine is pointless , especially after tune ...

K03 turbo with a k03 turbine and k04 compressor?
K03 turbine is too small for your desired power,
exhaust gas pressure before turbine is getting way to high:
reducing gas exchange/VE,
heating up combustion chamber/ exhaust gas,
causing knock retard....

Yes as far I can see, I didn't open the turbo to check. My friend told me that

I think I didnt make myself clear.
Problem is high calculated EGT, so I have a retard ignition after gear change and BTS request a AFR below 10 . Look at graph below at maximum boost...
Same is from 3rd gear to 4th, as wheel (I  cool down the car and do another run) from 4 th to 5th. Every time if calculaced EGT is high i get retard ignition and enrichment

I want to lower down, "calculated EGT"

Now I lower down boost to normal (I don't want to force engine and turbo) 1.3-1.4 at peak and to 1.2 to high revs. But this EGT calculation is still make a trouble

Unless, if this is real knock in engine???

I apologize for my altitude. Will fix that then post new logs

After gear change knock voltage go to 50V  Huh Shocked

here is a 1.8T testrun, with K03 turbocharger, original equipped,
just to give an idea what the K03 turbine is capable of.
Remarkable the increase of exhaust gas pressure (p3) comparing to boost (p2S), even "untuned"

don't expect upturn, by reducing KFTATM

There is no connection beetwen calculated EGT and Timing ....

Lowering Calculated EGT will not fix Your timing retardation....

Fix BTS ....

Also search in FR for correlation beetwen Lamfa and Ignition .... motronic retard ignition for richer mixture - because flame speed... look for DZWOLA map... and check correlation beetwen lambda and timing retard... check what is happening on mixtures richer than 0.75
The more richer mixture the  timing is more aggressive so i t may cause knock.
As I said, FIX BTS for begining to prevent afr 10 ...

Leave calculated EGT alone, its not needed.

Also , YOu are requesting to much BOOST for this configuration ... it just cant stand this boost with this timing so its causing knock ...

Thank you very useful information  Wink Smiley

Okey I will fix BTS and see what will happen.

You think this is too much ignition for this boost, at 100 octane fuel?

I have 18 ignition on 98 octane with 230 g/s (300 hp on dyno). First tune daro/torque maps to avoid ignition oscilation. Emp must be stable to get power from this small turbo.

I already set DARO tourqe maps, but still have ignition oscilation
What EMP is?
And I looked at turbo exhaust side, it looks like it is K04
