Good day, fellow Nefmoto folk. Hope you're all well.

I have come across a peculiar situation that I cant seem to make heads/tails of. Tried searching didnt find anything.

I was trying to use Galletto 1260 to read a file off a friends Polo GTI 9n3 via OBD (ECU: ME7.5.5 06A906032TL).
I am surprised that it told me to change driver to 29400BB, and following that it failed to read the file off the ecu.

I am confused. how did a 400BB file end up in a 800BB ecu, in the first place?
Owner is as confused too because the car has always run just fine, and still starts and runs.
A few months ago, prior to the flash, it broke the chain tensioner and entire head was replaced with an APG N/A head, at a local tuner shop, but otherwise car has been through nearly 30k kms as is.

Please let me know your thoughts on this, and can I brute force my way and just flash a corresponding file?

Thanks for reading.

its 800

I tried using the 800BB driver, didnt work.
Tried using the 400BB driver, didnt work.

And while using the 800BB driver, it tells me to change it to 400BB.

It can see the ecu data: and says its a 06A906032TL file. But then shows File: 29400BT CHANGE DRIVER

But fails to read the file off the ecu with either of the drivers.

So my questions are:
1. If I flash a file for 9n3s on directly, would it succeed or would it brick?
2. How did someone manage to flash that file on in the first place?
