hello i have audi a4 b6 2.0 ALT original engine has been changed to 1.8 20v with vvt without turbo (AGN). in 2.0 ALT is a variator, AGN has a vvt chain tensioner.
is it possible to modify the ALT engine software so that vvt works correctly? Currently, the engine works well, the variator plug is not connected, only that it has a small torque of max 150nm
I would like to know if you can modify the software from the ALT engine to increase power and torque.

port the calibrations from the new to the old ecu for starting point

Dont use the ALT ecu use the 1.8t. Otherwise you need to disable the VVT function in the ALT as its compelty different , like you say it has continous adjustment. I dont know why you changed the ALT to 1.8 na as its literally better in every way as its a 2l stroker 1.8 basically.

the ALT engine has an aluminum block, after a small mileage an oval forms in the cylinders and consumes oil. in addition, the oil pump is poor.

or how to buy ecu from 1.8t then I will have to modify it for the engine n / a?

Actually it is Alusil, and the cylinders / bores are made from hardened iron and the oil pump is a 06a one and its a better solution than 058 IM shaft.

There are ME7 NA ecus out there, grab one and that will work with your ALT dbw. Just disable the VVT since you cant run vvt tensioner in the alt head( which is the most modern and best construction 20v head but yeah), oh also you gonna have to wire the coils in wasted spark config.

I have an AGN engine is a 6a block with a head that has a chain tensioner.
can you remove the variator options from ecu ALT and slightly increase the power and torque? /
