Im fitting a cluster from a b5 into a mk4. Donor car(02? Passat) cluster 3B0920927A with options are as follows, V6, FWD, 5-sp, mem seats, steering wheels controls, climatronic
The car this cluster is going into is an 04 golf, originally equipped with 1J0920907A configured for 2.0 gas, auto trans. Now is VR6 swapped(01 AFP) and 5sp, also added steering wheel controls
To fix up the gateway installation list, some changes must be made. I could only find 1 reference from a post adding a dsg to mk4 that made a change at address 0x1B6 in the cluster eeprom. So i did some experimental changes and document the results here

In the passat cluster starting at offset 0x174 original read 15 05 00 7E 15
The golf cluster was stored at offset 0x1B6 and read 03 04 00 3E 01
So from the base offset depending on the cluster:
0x00 X0 - +8-w/awd? manual passat had +1 while auto mk4 had a 0 here
0x00 0X - Transmission? - 3=auto, 5=manual, 7=dsg? *not sure about this one
0x01 0X - +1 - Steering angle(g85)
0x03 X0 - +4 - Memory seats
0x04 X0 - +1 - Climatronic
0x04 0X - +4 - Steering wheel

This is all ive figured out so far, but I do believe this is where a mk4/b5 "gateway installation list" resides. Picture showing mk4 cluster looking for HVAC, steering wheel, and mem seat modules

I am still fighting an ABS light without any faults stored in the abs, cluster, or ecu. Is it possible to use mk60 abs with a passat cluster that expects bosch 5.3/5.7?

You will need to flash en Golf EEPROM onto the Passat cluster and change the gateway module to the correct settings for your car if im not mistaken. I think that the Passat cluster uses the ABS light over a wire while the Golf get the info over CAN

Excellent! Used a 1j0920926j EEPROM on the 3B0920927B Passat cluster, made appropriate changes and mods, adapted immo and now no more ABS light, thank you
