Quick Question on an ME9.1 ECU. If i correct the CSM issues in the EEPROM and the ROM read/write via BDM will the P0601 go away on its own? or do i have to get it off in the EEPROM?
Someone reached out to me to help as they got scammed by some company.. Thought i would help them but want to double check.
Tools
BDM Winols ME9SUM EEPROM tool
Short answers are fine.

I found all the info for me7 but not 9.1. What im really looking for is what happens to the P0601 if i bench flash with BDM vs using a KESS tool.. Since i dont have the car and just the ECU... My guess is it will do the check and pass and the code will go away.... But my S4 isnt put back together yet so i cant go flash a bad rom to my car quickly to test.

It depends on what's caused the P0601. If it's just been an OBD write of the wrong SW version, you may get away with flashing in the correct version via BDM. I've seen some cars tuned where CLAKMOLD was modified and it seems to cause that code to pop up after a few months and the car is in limp. The EEPROM has the code stored permanently and the only easy fix is to flash in a full BDM from another vehicle with same software and then get someone with a a GEKO account to use ODIS to perform "Adapt used control module" to adapt immo etc.

Update the ECU to last SW version like 0020 to 0040 or 0070, and case will be solved.

I believe that requires me to have a full BDM flash of the new software and then understand how to update the EEPROM correctly on ME9.1. Im still not there yet so i told the Lady im sorry i cant help her currently. If it was ME7/me7.1.1 i would have been fine helping. I will read more into it as im still interested. I just dont know which issue is causing the problem and she lives far enough where they would have to mail me the ECU. I didnt want to waste her time even if i was helping for free. Appreciate the feedback ill do some testing this weekend.

Are there any news on this?
I saw a file where only DTC are deleted. Is that enough? What changes are required in EEPROM?
thanks a lot !

Fix checksum or reflash if hw is not damaged.

checksum is calculated by winols. I reflashed ori eeprom and flash and mpc by ktag and everything worked again. Then I disabled DTC 0601 in flash, but after one and a half week the error comes back

No. Free Winols and China KTAG. but never had problems before. I have also read that autotuner and other original tools cant handle that error. Or maybe the cant in the past.
After reading a lot I think the only option is to delete the DTC from eeprom. Because there it is set. In flash the error is disabled but still appears. So must be something in eeprom.
greetings.
