Right now i've got a crappy stage 2 tune from a "professional" company(alpha-n, BOV). My car is a 2001 Leon and the part number i believe is 06A906032DE. I'm going use a stock MAF and a stock DV. And as the S4 wiki suggests throw the BOV away (lol)

Now i want to put in the work myself, with the S4 wiki and the forum i'll definitely be able to make something work.

The issue i am now running into is what stock file to start with. I figured a stock 06A906032DE bin i found floating on the forum would be the way to go, but when comparing the stock file to my "professional stage 2" there is a difference of 402641 bytes. That just doesn't seem quite right to me.

Now when i compare the stock 032DE to the stock 032DR there is only a difference of 1436 bytes. Which seems much more reasonable. And part of this is probably due to the one being 180HP and the other 150HP.

I'm hoping anyone can point me in the right direction as to which stock file i should start using. Below i've added a stock 032DR and stock 032DE file which i've used to compare it to. The last file is what my car came with. Am i doing something wrong here, or did they really mess about with this file this much?

Go back to OEM settings and build off of that.

Use your OEM bin.

I'll go ahead an do so. It just confused me that OEM and my file have so many differences.

Okay thanks for that! I didn't know that you could use different BINs. I have DE from europe with AUQ engine, and leon have stock 180hp.

Anyways many thanks for the info thats good to know.

So i understand most ME7.5 ECU's are cross flashable. Does this also mean that i can use all these different types of software on my car?

So lets say i'd like to use the 032HJ as a base for my car. Would this work, or will the car not start when trying. I'm asking because it seems this is one of the best defined BINs around.

This one should work
There is a some incompatibility between immo versions so let's say HN doesn't start here
This can be eliminated with immo off any way

I see. I've tried immo off, but no succes. Not sure what went wrong but i'd figure retaining immo and "adapting" the ECU with vcds was a better option anyway.

I think using the best defined IMMO 2 would be best then. Although the DR is very well defined already.

Is it true when looking for a certain value for example i'm now looking for TVSAG0. Could i "reverse engineer" this from the HN xdf and look for similarities around the memory location to find it for my DR file? How can i be sure i'm not messing with the wrong values when finding my own ones

Well you could use beyond compare 3 to compare files and find new offset
It's a good option to find some non 1x1 maps in similar software
As for 1x1 you should be careful. Check the map value and the data around, if you see same values in map and same hex data before and after then it's yours for sure
Otherwise only ida tracking helps

I've tried looking into the bin and checking for similarities around the memory location. Which was an amazing tip.

032HN= TVSAG0 @ 0x15E32, TVSABTE @ 0x15E30

Now after looking for some patterns in the raw HEX data i think i got the right location but i'd love if someone is willing to double check this for me; (hopefully i helped someone else out with this one aswell)

032DE= TVSAG0 @ 0x15E0A, TVSABTE @ 0x15E08

Same location should go for 032DR.
