	Tuning for an uprated actuator « on: April 10, 2012, 02:22:58 PM »

Just wondering which maps need to be tuned if fitting an uprated actuator. So stock k04 is 5psi and the uprated one is 10psi. It's causing the boost the overshoot and go into limp mode I assume as the wastegate isn't opening when the ecu wants it to, I need to adjust this to allow for the new actuator, is it a case of tuning kfldrl or kfldimx or is there more to it?

KFLDRL - linearization of charge pressure

used for wastegate calibration POST PID.. (wastegate dutycycle)

Thank you, I knew it was that msp just not how it worked with an uprated actuator. I know if I set the map across the board to 0% it would run actuator pea sure near enough and if it was 95% then the actuator would remain closed prettying all the time. So if I reduce the % values in the map at areas of high load will that help and is it trial and error?

Correct, less duty cycle less assistance to keeping the gate closed. Higher your pressure base is due to large springs the less air you want to keep from the gate actuator.

In the tune for marcellus that I posted here there is an example of a capped but still capable map for a 13lb spring.
