Hey guys,

I've been trying to pull my SKC and cant seem to get any of my Chinese vag eeprom programmer, k+can commander etc to work.

Basically I'm just trying to read ECU eeprom to get the SKC to program my keys.

Does the nefmoto software read eeprom with ECU in vehicle?
Or does it only read with ECU on bench?

If not is there an eeprom reader that will allow me to read ECU eeprom while in vehicle?

Car in question is a 2001 mk4 1.8t AWD engine code with APR tune.

Cables I have are legit VCDS and black kkl 409.1 CH430

I've been trying to read either, but I can't get these Chinese programs to read. I can get them to acknowledge the cable but not connect to dash or ecu.

I've read you can get the skc from the ecu fairly easily if you can read it.

Is there eeprom ready for these clusters besides the Chinese  stuff?

VAG eeprom programmer 1.19 worked fine with my ch340 cable on immo3 cluster, just read thru obd, pin is shown at the bottom of the screen, then follow Rosstech guide.

Interesting, I read wrong then, it must be only IMMO3 that have it in ECU.

I tried VAG eeprom programmer 1.19g on a windows 7 32-bit virtual machine and when I tried reading cluster it either came up "ECU not found" or "RX timeout"

I have a feeling it may be a CH430 driver problem (I used the drivers that came with the cable)

Is it possible to get VAG eeprom programmer to work on windows 10? I don't have an old enough laptop to run windows 7 or XP.

It will not work on a vm
And why you're asking and not just to try that?

So I've seem to have got VAG eeprom programmer working on windows 10. When I read Dash EEPROM this comes up and seems to take forever. Am I supposed to let this run?
When I read my non-immo B5 A4 cluster a few years ago it never went through this process. Im guessing this may be an IMMO thing? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I think epprom programeer cant read it - maybe it's a software problem , i had similiar problem with a vdo cluster with a low d01 version , your cluster is a Boo/Motometer  V01

So is it possible to read this cluster without removing eeprom from it?

You tried doing it without dash fuse in place?

SKC isn't in immo2 ECU EEP.
