	limits of timing at high revs « on: April 20, 2012, 01:20:03 PM »

what would be the right way at above 6500 rpm.
I checked a lot of different me7 turbo files but none of them is advancing timing above 6500 or maybe 6700.
from Subarus scene I heard that knock control is not quite woking in that areas so nobody dares to advance.
are there any similar known limit to most me7?

You can alter the axis data on the timing maps.

Timing is advanced from the last known point. So if your last point is 6800 then it will continue to use that value.

I have never read that our knock control ceases to work in the upper RPM's.

Change the RPM axis, fill in the numbers, log, change, repeat.

KR doesn't shut down at high revs, but it does adjust for increased engine noise at high load/rpm.

that's my next step.
Currently I cannot log knock voltages or retards, only very indirecty with some basic OBD values.

I was just interested in some experiences before I start investigating.
