Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of swapping a 24v VR6 BDF engine on my 2002 1.8T manual New Beetle. All parts/supplies I got for this swap is from a 2002 Jetta GLX 24V. As some of you may know, GLX VR6's are automatic which means my ecu is also programmed auto (and the wiring is different and missing a couple plug here an there but I already modified the harness to be exactly the same pinout as a manual harness).

Basically, I'm looking for any input on if its possible to flash the ecu that came from the Auto Jetta to flash a file from a manual car. Any help is appreciated

The ecu I have right now is Motronic Me7.1.1, 022 906 032 BL.

Thanks!

just flash a manual file from the same year. you may still need to change softcoding too but thats about it as long as you have it wired correctly

022906032BM for 6-gear MT is compliant with 032BL software.
After reflash softcoding must be changed from 00033 to 00032.

Thanks a lot for the reply! Like I mentioned above, I'm pretty new to this and my current plan is to just use Nefmoto flasher to flash the ecu while its installed on the car.

So I am in search of a 022906032BM bin file as per Marty's recommendation. Once I know I can flash, I want to learn/explore more and play with the bin file later.

Also I will be using a 6speed MT on the car, so in that case I think I won't need to change soft coding after flashing, right?

Thanks!
