2001 amu audi tt
Nefmoto does nothing beyond connecting.
I can connect just fine.  38xxxx baud and slow connect
But when I try anything it just fails.
Can't even read ECU data.

I've tried with four different cables. Nothing.

Car and setup used to flash just fine. I out a few different files on here.  But now I'm locked out

Vcds works fine.

I tried pulling cluster fuse.   Pulling cluster entirely. Putting in different cluster. Tried reinstalling drivers. No luck. The only notable thing that happened was that the cable I was using broke.
Blue cheapo ftdi cable.  Flashed great. Then just started giving a million errors in vcds and no more flash.
I bought numerous good replacement that work in vcds.
But nothing works in nefmoto now.

I attached the output from nefmoto when I try to flash.

Please don't post photos of your screen. rotated even? with this lack of attention to detail it is unlikely you'll have any success in anything technical.

use copy/paste *on the text of the error* or at least have the decency to use the built in windows screen shot hotkey

mybad. I didn't have any wifi on the laptop in my car, and my phone showed that image as being rotated properly.

Can you talk to it on the bench?

Also, try a dedicated kline.

ok. I rerouted the kline to skip everything and go directly from the ecu to the obd plug.
it still didn't work.
still connects.
but if I try anything it just fails.

here is the readout from connecting, then trying to read ecu data.

try bootmode (you'll need galetto and a bench flasher, unfortunately).

Or get a spare ecu

Ah fuck.  Ok. I have a bench now, but couldn't figure out hooking it up in the car.
I'll try pulling the ECU.

any input into what might have caused this. or what kind of things cause connection errors like this?
it flashed fine a few weeks ago. Although there was a small memory error before flashing. though the flash went through ok.

bad flash, probably. as in, you screwed something up in your bin.

i'd bootmode flash stock and see if nef can flash.

if not, the ecu is dead.

Well not dead of course because the car runs in its current state.   But yeah I definitely need to flash.

So I got a bench harness going.
So far no luck.
With galletto. It recognizes the cable and will "try". To read the ECU.
But then it says that it's not in boot mode.

One odd thing. If I try galletto in normal mode. Then it just freezes and I have to close the program.

I've got all pins powered.  3 62 21 121
Also tried not powering 121.

Galletto mentions cycling ignition for 10sec.  Is that pin 62?
This is an me7.5

What are you doing to get it into boot mode?

Just ground pin 24 then add power and remove pin 24 after 10secs then run galletto.

I also tried doing that after galletto started.

Also tried nefmoto and geletto without grounding pin24.  Nef just says cannot connect at all.
Galletto freezes up forever when I hit read ecu

I'm thinking maybe I should leave it powered and then cycle it on/off with pin62.  That's ignition right?

At this point I think you need a separate known good ecu to verify your bench cable and bootmode technique are correct.
