I want to use nyets mapdump to convert my kp file, but it says it's not the right format.
I read that the mapdump program can only do some of the kp files depending on which version they are.

SO i'm wondering if this solution will work.
Under the assumption that mapdump works with the latest winols version.
If somebody imports my mystery version kp (which i downloaded off the net) into their latest version winols.
Then saves it out from their winols as a new kp file.
then theoritcally it should be the latest kp version?

this is all a guess, so feel free to tell me if i'm wrong.

mapdump only works with a very ancient version because EVC refuses to participate in any communities other than their own business model.

the virus is a false positive it will do no harm to your computer be quicker for u to use winols....its very time consuming making XDFs

Ok I'll give it a shot.
I'm definitely not making my own xdf's.   Sounds like a nightmare

UPDATE:
kp file converted.
i found someone helpful on "ecu connections" forum.
he converted the kp to xdf for me.

i'll attach it here.
now maybe someone has an idea about what's up with the weird acronyms.

everything is still in german, which is not too surprising.
but what's wierd is that I don't see any of the usual german acronyms.  I don't see lamfa, kflbts, kfldhbn, ldrxn, nothing!
could it be that they actually are not there? Or are they just named something different?

Stuy. Dude. You didn't even read what I wrote.

I wasn't asking anyone to do anything.

I was asking if it is strange that the usual German acronyms are not there.

That has nothing to do with whether or not I have to do the work translating and editing the file

The acronyms/initialisms can be different as the ECU's evolve yes, in terms of building xdf's, I think you can port them out of the software on here or a bit of DIY and build them from scratch.

I was just surprised that none of the acronyms were there but other german ones were.

I suppose i assumed that the common acronyms were a “standard”.

That's what I thought.  I just didn't expect the acronyms to be missing by default
