Documentation for the Swedish implementation of the KWP-2000 SSF-14230 protocol.

Also, Fiat documentation on the KWP2000 protocol.

Also, just added the "Official Journal of the European Communities - Appendix 8 - Calibration Protocol".

No problem. If you have any questions about it let me know. At the moment I am spending most of my time on improving my flashing and logging software, so most of this is in my short term memory.

I'm working on my own tool right now in XCode for os x... using the D2XX/FTDI 10.6 drivers.

I'm sure I'll have more questions in a bit... Smiley

I've used the D2XX FTDI drivers for my own C# based tool. They are very nice to work with.

Don't forget to check out the ELM intelligent interfaces if you don't want to get stuck spending all of your time writing low level protocols. I did everything myself, but in hindsight I should have probably just used an ELM.

Yeah, I have a KWP2000 box w/ an FTDI chip. Honestly haven't gotten very far, just framing out the app right now.

Last night I tested out a KWP2000Plus cable and found my software does not work with it. The cable appears to be an "intelligent" interface because it contains an Atmel AVR microchip, and the interface does not produce echos when you transmit to it. I do not know what the communication protocol to this interface cable is, and have not had success just trying to send raw data through it to the ecu.

So what cable would you guys recommend for flashing/reading the ecu (S4 of course, with an H-box)?  It seems like there are so many versions out there some of which are pretty expensive (Ross-Tech) and some of which are cheap (EBAY).  Help me out here so that I wont purchase one and find out it's wrong!  LINKS WOULD BE GREAT!!!  Thanks in advance!

I have tried a $10 cable off eBay and it worked fine with my software because it contained an FTDI chip.

Just search for "VAG USB KKL" on eBay. These cables will work with VAG-COM up to version 409.

If you want to get into flashing your ECU quickly, I would say buy a Galletto cable off eBay. That is the cheapest route.

I will hopefully release my free flashing software in the next couple of weeks. Just putting the finishing touches on the user interface now.

Well I tried this weekend to read a A6 2.7 biturbo quattro (year 2004) and galleto stoped about 57% anda said it´s done... but it wasen´t, só I tried to remove the fuse 15 (it didn´t had fuse 11) but again no luck...

With KWP and the new driver released by chiptunaware (it clain to make ME7 by OBD instead of bootmode) it didnt wake the ECU.

Any suggestions ?

Did you try removing the instrument cluster fuse when you tried out the KWP2000Plus tool?
