Hi,

i am trying to fix a car where the abs was upgrade to 1C0907379G ESP FRONT MK60 0101 coding: 0019970
The ecu was flashed to 06A906032HJ 1.8L R4/5VT G 0002 coding: 11500
The ecu is a bam/amk one but coding was edited in eeprom directly and flash is 032hj 0002.

The coding of both parts should match based on this vcds fullscan i found: http://www.golf4.de/werkstatt/54531-2-fehler.html

however the abs unit is complaining about wrong coding. i tried every possible coding. dsg is disconnected and dash is vdo immo3.
as far as i know, there is no other ecu/part on the kline or can talking with the abs unit.

I dont understand why the abs is complaining about wrong coding.
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1J)_Brake_Electronics_(MK60)
G251 is missing because the car is FWD
Do i need an true 032HJ eeprom?

there are no errors in the ecu and only the one error in the abs unit.

the coding is listed here too under aum (032hj) engine
http://www.golf4.de/elektronik-tacho-alarmanlagen-zv/195636-codierung-abs-auf-312-256-a.html

any hints welcome

okay guys the cable bridge was missing.

when swapping from old to new mk60 we unpinned every cable and we forgot about the cable bridges
you have to connect to pins based on front or awd

Hi aef.
I want to make a conversion from fwd to awd.
I have on my  skoda octavia 1 rs from 2002 1.8t the abs module 1C0 907 379E with all sensors and functions ABS ESP ASR
I have a awd donor car, skoda octavia 1 from 2002 too 1.8t AXR engine with 1C0 907 379H.
I tried to recode my abs module 379E with coding of 379H , for testing before i will make phisical transformation of chassis but i received out of range code error.
I think must recode the ecu and the cluster too, or make some bypass in the connector. I will search both car to see if the connectors/wires are the same. I found on the internet for awd it is a bypass between 2 pins other than fwd.
I want to recode my abs module, but if is not possible i will change with awd module , but it is a lot of work too.
Anybody can tell me if i can recode mine?
Thanks

it wont accept the coding as long as you dont change this bridge between both pins

Thanks AEF. So if i understood well, they are compatible and i can recode my fwd module (after bypas/bridge pins) like awd module.  I will try this when the time for it will arrive. I will check before both car cables/conectors first.

"I was able to find wiring diagrams and compared them. The ABS module connector is identical on a Jetta and an R32, except for a single jumper wire. On a 4Motion Jetta and the R32, there is a jumper wire between pins 14 and 39. On a front wheel drive Jetta, there is also a jumper wire, but it is between pins 12 and 38. I was worried there would be more differences between the wiring diagrams, but apparently this is the only difference. As mentioned earlier, the ECU performs a check, and if the version of the ABS module (4Motion or FWD) doesn't match the jumper wire, then this error code is triggered.
