Hello guys,
I have made some research here about those ECUs and I wanna check if my assumptions are right (or wrong
)
* ME7.x can be flashable through OBDII using a KKL cable (FTDI) and NefMoto's software
* M3.8.2 is used on drive by cable and has a non-flashable memory, so, it can't be flashed through OBD/BDM
* M3.8.3 is used on drive by wire and has a flashable memory, so, we can write through OBDII. To read, we need to unsolder the chip.
Assuming that this is right, I got a question:
* There is a A4 V6 2.8 30V here in my country that I was looking to buy to be my first remap lab. The ECU is a M3.8.2.
I was thinking of swap the M3.8.2 for a ME7.5 - I know it will be time consuming and will probably require a lot of knowledge, but since it will be my lab I guess it will be a great opportunity to learn.
The other option is to skip all those adaptation work and buy direcly a car with ME7.x ECU (1.8T A3 with DBW (180hp))
By your experience, what path would you choose?
