Hello everyone,

Short story:
We have one Audi A3 1.8T AGU Engine but BAM Wire Harness and DSG Gearbox fitted and we have some issues.
I would like some pointers on where to look and what to try.

As you know, 02M Gearbox have VSS Sensor on it whereas the DSG DQ250 does not have one. We are struggling to get speedometer working as it now only shows 0km/h. As far as I've read, the Audi Dashboard (or at least I did not found) does not have the same structure as the VW dash where you have a bit to change where to get the VSS from (VSS sensor itself or from can abs module). We have mk60 abs unit installed. Original car was auto gearbox, we have fitted DQ250 DSG and we are running EMU BLACK ECU.

So the problems are, VSS not working - we can't figure out how to activate in cluster to get signal from abs pump instead of VSS sensor (which is not present anymore) or if it's possible. Other solutions, which we are not very fond of - drill gearbox and install 02M VSS Sensor, change cluster with VW ones that can change the dump, etc. We want to have this fixed.

Also, 2nd problem is how to get the paddle shift to work, as far as i know there are 3 wires that go from the paddles to steering wheel column ecu and then on can via can getaway. If someone can point me into the right direction would be great.

Sorry for long post, I can post cluster dump or anything you may need as info to point to where to look.

Best regards

Why not just read speed from CAN and generate signal from Ecumaster?

I don't understand why people are so full of themself and have to give stupid quotes they read on google. You either want to help someone or don't do it at all. I also think you missed all the things I was talking about.

I want to know if it's possible to do with the actual setup, not buying other stuff I already know about. As I said, there are lots of options but I don't want to get into those for now.

Why not just read speed from CAN and generate signal from Ecumaster?

I think for now that's the way to go. Thanks.

You can use somehing like this, also you can put proximity sensor near shaft bolts. And change in cluster impuls signal from 8 to 6.

What you think you will achieve drill the gearbox?

This and a 12v hall sensor, can use the stock one. Between gearbox flange and right hand driveshaft.
Edit. Forgot to mention that this works only for 4 wheel drive dsg.

Recently done dq250 swap into my a3 8L 1.8t,
Speed signal problem solved by swapping mk4 cluster and changing 0x65 byte from 80 to 81.
Cluster takes speed from ABS through CAN.

2nd reason to swapping cluster is faulty a3 8L one - MM Jaeger which i had...
