ME7.3.1 MDNORM as system constant
« on: July 05, 2022, 03:10:40 PM »
Hi,
so long story short, i am trying to swap a thesis 20vt engine and ecu into a fiat stilo.
they both share the same body computer, so everything works apart from the abs, which gives an error: can configuration error.
After some tests with another ecu's from thesis and stilo, the conclusion was that the error happens because of the torque value that the ecu outputs.
For instance, stilo 2.4 ecu has 340nm MDNORM, thesis 3.0 ecu has 400nm MDNORM, if i change the thesis 3.0 ecu value to 340nm the error disappears.
So the logical thing is to change the value of the 20vt ecu to 340nm so that everything works.
Unfortunately i cant for the love of god find the value, i have spent hours and i cant find it.
Is there a possibility that the value is a system constant and it cant be changed? Every other ME7.3.1 has the value MDNORM in the bin and its easy to find.
THANK YOU.

There is also the possibility to use the abs of another car, for instance the abs of alfa 147 gta/1.9 multijet, which supports 400/510nm, but still i need to change MDNORM.
Also the output torque of thesis 20vt ecu is 420NM.

Even that that value is comstant it still can be changed. You will need to find in IDA to see where come from. Is it constant or come from some map

I have only started learning c/c++ some months ago, I am still not very good writing code, much less reversing it, especially assembly.
Also my knowledge with embedded systems and c167 architecture is not very good.
I do intended to get good at it, but it will take me time.
Thanks for your answer, I guess this will be a problem that I can solve when my skills get good enough.

thank you, 0x11535 is the correct one. ECU works in the car like factory now, thank you again
