I have a 2014 VW Jetta GLI. It has the EA888.3 Gen engine with a 12.2 SIMOS ECU. This was the transition year from MK6 to MK7. I was the "lucky" one who essentially has a MK6 ECU with a MK7 engine. I installed a big turbo along with many other peformance mods. The stage 3 software tune for the turbo states it only works with (MK7) SIMOS 18 ECUs. I have exhausted the big brand tunes and nobody has a stage 3 for my car. I have also tried the custom tune route and was unsuccessful. Is it possible to swap out my SIMOS 12.2 ECU for an SIMOS 18? If so, is this the best approach and how do I do this?
