Hello ! I am plugged ecu from AGU(3.8.3.) engine to AEB(3.8.2) for flash without desolder th chip.All works and car runing.New map is ready and flashed,everyone is working but have problem with idle runing,works very rough and on low rpm.Why is happened this ? Because ECU is from different engine ?

Hi, from what I remember I've read somwhere, AGU and AEB ecus have pins number 2 and 3 inverted for the coil packs. This kind of running rough at idle can definetly be two swapped plugs (I did swap once two plug wires by mistake in the non turbo 1.8t and had same symptoms) but do confirm it looking for wiring diagrams or switching the two coil plugs around to see if goes back to normal.

Please report back as I am in the process of doing the same job to be able to flash ecu in the car. If it doesn't work we'll have a look at other stuff.

Hi, I did a bit more research about your issue and I think I might be right: the two ecus have different coil wiring pinouts, have a look: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4682.0

By the way, today I tried flashing my 018AQ AGU ecu with 558E + filled the 128kb extra with FF to make up for the file size difference, but of course it failed miserably hah. Flashing was smooth but after flash with my file VCDS would not detect the ecu anymore.  After re-flashing with ori file it worked again.

How did you make your AEB file to work with AGU ecu? I see in your file it still says the 06A part number so I have no idea what have you done. ¿Any help with it?

Yep, also my 018AQ is M3.8.3. My trouble is I ain't finding any info on how to get ready a file for the M3.8.3 with M3.8.2 maps. Have read somewhere a vague explanation to "transfer maps" but I have no idea if it means ALL the damos maps or what. I really believed the extended 558E file was going to work, but these things never are as easy as we think or we would like...

Hi, this did not work. Actually, if we have a look at the first section of the eeprom, which I suspect is the lookup table for the computer to search for everything in the eeprom, is much larger in the 3.8.2 compared to the 3.8.3.



When I flashed the file you mention, MPPS did ID the ecu, as it might just look up the data in the 0xBF00 address, but the ecu wasn't working as VCDS would not recognise it anymore.

Still looking for help on how to make a file for the AGU ecu. Thanks!
