Hi

What are the different sizes on 1.8t connecting rods and which enginecodes uses which?

I know about the small end diameter difference, 20mm vs 19mm

But what about the width of the connecting rods?

Are you really sure?
I'm a bit confused about the width.

Some H-beam measures 24.95mm in width, with 20mm piston pin.

And others just 19.95 in width. And tapered 19mm pin.

Ah, so it is a manufacturing mistake, got it.
Sadly I have already bought those H-beam rods.
So the rods are totally useless scrapmetal.

Can those rods fit some other VAG engine?
Maybe 1.4 TSI engine?

Interesting question
i made this mistake once but i didnt understand which engine does have the smaller width and why
I dont see why the whole rod needs to be less width only because the piston/small end is smaller in width

Sadly I think quite a lot of people over the years have bought those H-beam rods.

Hopefully they notice the size difference fast, and they got their money back.

Difficult to source H-beam rods with tapered 19mm small end and 24.95 width.
I can only find those rods with wrong width measurements.

Correct rods but with 20mm small end is easy to get.
But I need to get new pistons with 20mm piston pins.
