I have been logging my car and seem to be at a stopping point. Looking for some direction on my fuel trims pinning out at 0.75 in WOT 4500-6800rpm.

My vehicle is a mk2 swapped awp 1.8t. I did k04, 386cc, air intake, and I have the audi tt 70mm maf but it is not installed. Currently running my 60mm original maf until I get my fueling correct then I will swap over and scale my maf. Car drives pretty good so far on this tune.

I got krkte setup nice, started with oe value from audi file and tweaked until stft were pretty damn near 0. I have also changed kfkhfm and fkkvs to all 1.0.

Did a few logs. Tried adjusting kfkhfm in the higher rpms and loads to see if fuel trims changed. They are still pinning out at 0.75. I noticed my rl_w change and went slightly higher than rlsol_w. Which makes sense after all that I have read on here and s4 wiki.  Should I be using kfkhfm to match up rl_w and rlsol_w as my intake setup is different from stock (for smoothing load), before moving onto fkkvs or lamfa tables?
Would anyone have any suggestions on what map to focus on from here?

Hi,

first of all you should re-define your logger to show:
throttle plate angle
wastegate duty cycle
intake air temperature
ignition retard 1-4

then you should think about your boost profile and why you dump that much fuel into your engine
your lambdacontrol is high even with no boost and your battery voltage is wrong also

do we talk about a real k04-020 or 023 or some kind of k03/k04 hybrid?

Sorry its been a bit. Have been struggling to find some time. I have added a catch can, boost gauge, and afr gauge. I have updated my logger and added a few more things. Also I have a K04 - 001 turbo. Did a few more logs last night.

At those low boost levels you can pretty much run 1 lambda everywhere. Not sure what you are doing.

You're deep into BTS, why? Log EGTs.

Anyway, probably out of fuel pump and/or battery voltage.

Interesting. I do have a walbro 255 in my tank. I am trying to finish my project. I am struggling to dial in my fueling, after I have upgraded to the audi tt 386cc injectors. I have got my Injector offset and krkte setup. After logging and seeing my afr stop at 0.75, I am wondering what map to focus on to get afr requested and actual to be the same. Then I was going to tackle boost.

Egt's seem ok to me.

I am looking for a direction to go in. This my first experience tuning.

It is requesting alot of fuel. I am going to adjust lamfa. I wasnt aware I could change requested afr. After re reading the s4wiki I have found some clarity. Now I feel dumb but I found my direction. More messing around to do.

TVUB is the table for injector dead time, KRKTE is base injection calculation, LAMFA is driver request fueling. You need to have the basics correct in order to tune request fueling. Also, push back bts its active too soon

Thank you. Yes I have done those already. Anyways you were all spot on with the BTS map taking over. I logged and adjust tabgbts. Im still getting too high of egts. You can really see it take over and blast it with fuel. Thank you everyone.

you changed from way to much fuel to way to less fuel.
now you have to find the perfect value inbetween.

try to find logs and understand the desired lambda curve
i would recommend to see this log file here
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=6955.msg68765#msg68765
and read this thread. its documented very well.

the goal is to have a smooth curve

Thank you aef. Those threads were very helpful. I think I have grasp of things now after reading those and comparing info from the s4 wiki. I have adjusted a few things and now my afr is looking much better. My egts have calmed down. Decided to add some boost.

first of all and very important:
What is going on with your ignition. Is it stock or tuned already? ME7 can retard 12 degree, you are at 8 degree currently. this is dangerous.
Modify your timing until you have no or max 3 degree retard.

Aim for 0.82 and try to be at 0.82 when your peak boost is there.
I learned this from prj here http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=22084.msg161714#msg161714
For example: your boost will go up from 2000 to 3000rpm your lambda should go down from 1 to 0.82 also in this windows of 2000 to 3000rpm.

if your fuel and timing is save you can inclease boost up top because your maf reading is the same from 5000 until 7000rpm.

It is just stock ignition tables. Thank you for the warning. I haven't studied the ignition tables yet. Ill do some more reading and adjusting soon. I don't rely on this car so it only really drives on weekends. It is my hobby car.

Don't take the lambda target as gospel, it depends on fuel, and other things as well.
I've found it is what the 5v 1.8T "likes" on 98 octane (where if you need to go much richer, you might as well reduce the boost for same power etc).

On 95 it probably will like richer, on different types of race fuel or ethanol it can like something else entirely.
