Hello,

I converted my Golf 4 1.8t to DSG DQ250. Now I have to code the control unit, but since it is a manual transmission control unit it doesn't work.

I found out here that I can flash an automatic tax data record.

I found one: 06A906032CM

But as far as I am informed, this is for a USA model. Would I have problems with this tax data in Europe/Germany?

I also read that you can read and code the Eeprom. But I also read that the Flash also needs to be changed. I have a tuning file on my control unit. I could manage a Stage 1 myself, but I have a K04-001 with modified coils and nozzles. Unfortunately I can't do that myself.

Mine is an 8N0906018Q. Is there a tax rate for automatic? Then could I apply the changes like this?

I have now flashed the file, but unfortunately the car is still in the same situation. I can't code the Eeprom to automatic. Do I have to flash the Eeprom from an automatic transmission or can I edit my Eeprom so that I can flash a file with automatic coding?

After my research I think I was searching in vain.

The APP and the ARZ are said to have never been available with an automatic transmission. For me that would mean that I have to use an AUM or AUQ control device. But since my car is an APP, it becomes problematic with the cables.

Does anyone know whether an APP control unit is different from an AUM control unit, apart from the chip 29f400 to 29f800?

I still have a 29f800 chip there. I could flash it in my soldering and an AUM software on it. The only question is, would this work easily?

What about the pin assignment of the two control devices? Are they identical?

I know that the AUM has a VVT, I would either retrofit it or try to switch it off. The first and foremost thing is to get the gearbox running.

Just swap the ecu for the wideband one, change or adjust your wiring harness. Install VVT solenoide. Change cluster to immo3, pair with ecu. Done.

M-m-m.... There are at least two firmware variants.
ARZ engine with automatic transmission -> firmware 06A906032AT, Euro3, coding 05530
USDM version of 1.8T Engine AWD with AT -> firmware 06A906032CM, LEV, coding 06530 or 06430
Both with narrow O2S without VVT and use flash memory 29F400.

I also found the two parts. I also put both flash on mine, but still couldn't take over the automatic encoding with VCDS. Then I thought these weren't automatic flashes. but if you say it like that, could it be because my Eeprom is still manual from the APP? can't I edit the Eeprom with winols? Does anyone happen to know the address of the coding?

Here please. It would be nice if you could code it to 06A906032AT. I don't know if there is a coding for Euro4 on the 06A906032AT. Mine is Euro 4 not Euro 3 Cheesy

Is it possible that these 4 values are responsible for the coding?

I got the coding done, but it still doesn't work. The transmission reports no communication with ECU. I think it's due to the ARZ ECU. Is it possible that the newer ECUs, called the ones with 29f800 chips, signal more via the Can bus than the 29f400? Maybe the main mistake lies here.
