More and more people are doing an DSG swap into MK4 cars. And one "issue", is that the tachometer is soooo slugish.
Ive been doing some digging around, and it looks like only the MK4 R32 DSG clusters came with "fast" tachometers.

The cluster part number in this video is part number 1J0920846G (VWK503 software)

If we compare to my cluster, 1J0920826A (VWK501): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyQDrsXH2Sw
As we can see there is clearly some smoothing involved, and this is probarbly done in software.

I got hold of an Passat B5.5 VWK503 cluster and tried cross flashing the EEPROM from 1J0920846G, no luck got DEF in cluster, and tachometer still slugish.

So my next step that i want to try is flashing the ROM on the MCU with the rom from 1J0920846G, but there is no ROM on the internett.

TLDR;
If some kind gentleman could read the ROM off their 1J0920846G (or any other R32 DSG cluster), that would be great help on my quest to fixing something that isnt really a problem 

To read the ROM you need a KKL (generic vag-com) cable.
