Hi everyone,

I want to learn to make my own custom code patches in assembly language.
I am interested in Bosch ME7.5 and I’d like to eventually write my own functions or modify existing ones (like launch control, multimap).

Could anyone recommend:

- Which specific assembly language or CPU family I could study for this ECU?

- Good tools for disassembly and editing (I read IDA, Ghidra mentioned here before)?

- Any background needed before getting into this?

Any starter guides, old threads, or tutorials would be great as well.

Any general tips for beginners would also be really appreciated.
