Hi all!

Well I have a problem with my 02' GTI 1.8T AWP Motronic ME7.5

I'm trying to understand my brake switch fault. And yes I have tried a new brake switch!

Here's the details:

Can someone tell me why ecu pin # 56(black/red wire) at the ecu is outputing a power signal when it should be getting a input(+)from the brake light switch. I don't know why this is happening? According to the bently wire diagrams the brake switch should send power to the ecu. Vag-Com shows a implausible brake switch fault only when the switch is hooked up and the pedal is depressed a couple of times. When I look at live data on Vag-Com on group 066, I'm seeing the binary # xxxx1001 when the pedal is up. The last two didgets are for the two brake light switch signals and only the second one from the right changes when I apply the brake pedal. So only one brake switch signal is being received. When I disconnect the switch there is still power at pin 56 at ecu, and that shouldn't be?

I'm stumped!
